About Tech Resources Group
Tech Resources Group is made up of a staff of technology educators who both teach actively and serve as consultants. We are experts at integrating constructivist technologies into curricula. We believe that students should be active participants in their educations, and help teachers find ways to empower their students.
Laurie Heikkila, our president, is an internationally recognized educator, speaker, curriculum consultant, and workshop leader with over ten years of experience and a strong belief in constructivist learning. She has a special interest in girls’ learning styles and in how girls learn about and work with technology, and is a regional director for FIRST Lego League robotics competitions. Laurie has taught at the Laurel School for Girls, in the Cleveland public schools, and at Cleveland State University, from which she also holds a masters degree in in educational technology. She is available for presentations, workshops, keynotes, and consultations, and a list of her recent talks and projects is available.
Peter Collopy is both our webmaster and a technology educator. He has a background in history and is particularly interested in the role of computing in humanities education.
